In a firehouse turned gym in downtown Santa Barbara… Athletes shadow box and jump rope to the sounds of pop radio, timed buzzers, and dogs barking. Conversations are blended with a mix of English and Spanish. Children run along the ropes of the ring, in and out of punching bags.
